Union Valley Baptist Church, Beebe, Arkansas
It's time to go home!!! Mom and Dad - get ready - here they come!!! We stopped at Barry's in Florence, MS for lunch - great food and awesome atmosphere! We started with Andy AND we ended with Andy.
Monday morning we headed to the Mission of Hope rehabilitation center. We were blessed once again with the spirit of desperation for God. There was NO DOUBT the Holy Spirit was present!
The men of Mission of Hope even sang to us! Be listening for our new version of Victory in Jesus!
Sunday morning, Know Mercy presented to the students at Redemption Church. Bro. Cliff (youth pastor) was very encouraging to our students.
We then went to big church to hear Bro. Ed Litton. What a wonderful morning of worship! Several ladies from Home of Grace were baptized. We even met Billy Graham (Evangelism Pastor)!
We celebrated Tyler's 23rd birthday!!!
Sunday evening we worshiped with Orchard Baptist Church. They even fed us!!! The kids (and adults) were EXCITED about the home cooked meal! This may have been a small church in number but their hearts were BIG with a love for Christ! After the service, the congregation wanted to give all of the kiddos a hug and a word of encouragement.
Daily Devotional: Isaiah 31:10
Saturday, Know Mercy traveled to the USS Alabama, located on Mobile Bay. After doing a self guided tour of the USS Alabama, Know Mercy performed the National Anthem, Oh Beautiful and the Battle Hymn of the Republic, for the 47th Annual Veterans Reunion of the USS Alabama and USS Drum . The veterans were very thankful for the Know Mercy Choir coming sing and that all of them have been very polite and courteous!
Know Mercy proceeded to Gulf Shores, Alabama to enjoy the beach. We started off by having a picnic lunch in a pavilion....the weather couldn't have been more perfect! The kids had a blast! The waves were rolling pretty good so the kids were riding and jumping waves, had sand castle competitions, played catch, and just enjoyed the sand and saltwater. At the end of the day, we went souvenir shopping and headed back to the Redemption Church!
Daily Devotional: Revelation 3:20
Know Mercy's service project today was helping at the main campus of Redemption Church, where we are lodged. Redemption Church also serves as a Christian School for K-8th grade. The principal, Chris.....who the kids nicknamed "Chris the Boss Man", led the kids to a storage room for the school. The storage area has been collecting old broken computer equipment, empty boxes, text books, carpet etc. Know Mercy cleared the storage room within an hour.
Later Friday afternoon, KM traveled to the Alabama Baptist Children's (ABC) Home where they keep children (ages up to 18) that have been orphaned or neglected and processed by DHS. Know Mercy unloaded the music equipment and set up as quick as they could and almost at a jog, went to find the kids being lodged at the facility. KM found them at the playground and jumped right in loving each and every one of them. Playing on merry-go-rounds, pushing kids on the swings, climbing tree house, skateboarding and playing some basketball, the kids at ABC and KM were having a blast. When it was time for KM to perform, they started out by teaching the ABC kids "Walking on Water" dance. They all caught on quick!! KM sang and many of the ABC kids knew the words to music....which was so awesome to see and brought tears to many. Everyone was experiencing such joy with the music. There was one young lady that would express confusion after the skits, Trust Fall and Comfort, stating, "Why are you clapping for that" and "that's sad". Brother Casey, did an amazing job preaching, making sure it was on their level and explaining that the young lady was right on!
Daily Devotional: Deuteronomy 31:8
Thursday morning we returned to the Redemption West Mobile for our service projects. We met with Cliff, who is bi-vocational and Cade, who is an intern with Redemption Church. We split into 3 groups and went to different locations in the West Mobile area.
One group traveled to Baker High School and worked two landscaping projects. The principle and teachers were so appreciative....we even saw a news crew shortly after we finished the "Welcome to Baker High School" landscaping, doing a news broadcast in front of it.
The second group traveled to Collier Elementary School. There, the group replaced all the classroom furniture that was taken out to strip and wax the floors. They replenished about half the schools classrooms with their original furniture....to include some teachers desks that weighed....A LOT.
The third group stayed at the Redemption Church West campus. This team pulled nails out of existing baseboards, pulled up old tile and prepping for new flooring, and they also painted the inside of the youth building.
Thursday evening we drove to Gatier, Mississippi to the Home of Grace women's facility. God showed out again! Upon the firsts two verses of Know Mercy's version of "Good Good Father" originally by Chris Tomlin, the Spirit of our Lord was present! The ladies continued to praise and worship through the night. Know Mercy mingled and talked with the ladies at the center, sharing Gods love and reminding them that they are Loved!
Daily Devotional: Luke 10:38-42
Wednesday morning we split into three groups and worked at the Saraland Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. Each group picked up trash, weeded flower gardens, painted, and picked up brush and limbs from the school grounds.
Wednesday afternoon we went to the Allen Memorial Home. The residents were so sweet and welcoming! Mel even joined us to sing many requested old-time hymns.
Wednesday evening we worshiped with the students at Redemption Church.
Daily Devotional: 1 Peter 4:10
Know Mercy started the day in West Mobile to the Redemption Church West campus to help with prepping an existing building for the new children's and youth building. The kids tore up carpet, busted up tile, cleaned, moved furniture from one building to another, and tore down a storage closet. The kids worked so hard they had all of the chores (for two days) done by noon.
Tuesday afternoon the group headed to the Ronald McDonald House to sing and visit with the sweet families. We were able to help prepare take-out boxes and fill BBQ sauce containers. We worked right along side some of the residents of the house.
Daily Devotional: 1 Peter 4:10
On Tuesday evening, Know Mercy traveled to Vancleave, Mississippi to the Home of Grace Rehab Center. There were approximately 100 men at chapel that evening. There are not many words that can describe the experience, only that the Holy Spirit was such a presence you could literally SEE IT!
WHAT A BLESSING! We received such a blessing as the kids and adults worshiped together. The kids performed great but more importantly they were praising God! The men at this facility were from all walks of life and ages and from different places across the country. Many of them shared their stories and allowed us to pray with them and for them.
